With remarkable efforts to create unity between artisans, The Scandinavian & California Artisan Exchange Program will be expectantly founded by January 2006. SCAEP will help to create a prosperous artisan exchange network for many areas within Scandinavia and California. This cultural exchange combines refreshing gallery exhibitions with precisely chosen geographic locations. The idea is an expansion of an existing concept introduced by the planet rooth studio gallery in San Diego, California.
Planet Rooth operates as an artists’ gallery, having hosted several international shows, highlighting artists from Sweden and Denmark. To accomplish this, Planet Rooth Studio Gallery founded and has given life to ‘Ray at Night’. The soon to be seven year old and most successful monthly art walk in San Diego, which draws hundreds of people to North Park. The gallery has already been the anchor and catalyst for many Scandinavian artists to leave their impression on California’s art scene. In return, several galleries in Stockholm, Sweden have been the primary hosts in the artist network with many others showing peaked interest.
Driven by this dedication to art and ambition for unity, Planet Rooth has introduced and encompassed a diverse array of artisans from multiple countries. As an acting ambassador from California and Sweden, Planet Rooth will continue to introduce much of the local California talent to these ‘Old World’ countries. Why not pursue these relations further and help to gather all artists who share a similar passion for creative networking and potential opportunities? It is the goal of SCAEP to attract these like - minded people to help promote and support such a program.
